Research Fellowships at Downing College, Cambridge

The Governing Body of Downing College, Cambridge, invites applications for election to the following two Research Fellowships.

Kim and Julianna Silverman Research Fellowship 2019

This Fellowship is open to graduates in Physical and Biological Natural Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science from any University and may be held for a period of 3 years from April 1st, 2019 at the earliest with renewal possible for a further 2 years.  The competition is open to existing post-doctoral engineers and scientists who are able to demonstrate outstanding intellectual ability and a programme of activity with the potential to improve over time the lives of others.  The successful candidate will have a background that encompasses and sometimes transcends traditional academic disciplines including, but not limited to, the following general research areas:  Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, Physical Geography, Physics, Synthetic Biology.

Mays-Wild Research Fellowship 2019

This Fellowship is open to graduates in any area of Physical Natural Sciences from any University and is for 3 years from October 2019.  It is intended to support the early careers of exceptionally talented researchers who will go on to make significant contributions in any field of the Physical Natural Sciences including, but not limited to, Astronomy, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry and Earth Sciences.
