Bucher-Fraser Scholarships for Masters in Music

Five scholarships available for taught masters programmes offered by the Reid School of Music.

Award

Each award is worth £12,500 and is tenable for one academic year.

Eligibility

The scholarship will be awarded to students who have applied for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate taught Masters programme of study within the Reid School of Music commencing in the 2019-2020 academic year. To be eligible, applicants must have received an offer to study by the scholarship deadline.

Awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit, the Bucher-Fraser scholarship requires candidates to have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.

However, the selection panel will also take into account financial circumstances to ensure that as far as possible financial need does not impede a university education.

If wishing to commence a new programme of study in September 2019 you must ensure that you have fully completed and submitted your Masters programme application for admission using the University’s online system:

Applicants must have submitted their fully completed Masters programme application in order to be considered for scholarship funding.

Please note: This scholarship cannot be held alongside the Jean Kennoway Howells Scholarship.

Applying

Details on the scholarship application process will be published on this webpage as soon as possible : the closing date will be 23:59 on 1st March 2019

Please note: the Personal Statement for your scholarship application should clearly state why you are applying for this scholarship, why you feel your application should be considered and what benefit the scholarship will have for your studies.  We are also looking for your thoughts on how you might contribute to the postgraduate community within ECA whilst on programme.

Notification

All applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of April/early May 2019.
