The Great Britain-China Centre (GBCC) is a UK government body dedicated to fostering stronger ties between the United Kingdom and China. While the GBCC itself does not offer scholarships, it administers the Great Britain-China Educational Trust (GBCET), which provides financial support to Chinese students pursuing higher education in the UK.

The GBCET offers scholarships to Chinese nationals studying for a PhD at UK universities. These awards are intended to assist with the costs associated with doctoral studies.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the GBCET scholarships, applicants must:

Nationality: Be a Chinese national, including those from Hong Kong.
Academic Status: Be enrolled in the third year of a PhD program at a UK university.
Previous Education: Have attended at least one institution of higher education in China.
Application Limit: Be allowed to apply twice for the award, with a mandatory one-year waiting period between applications. Successful awardees cannot reapply. Please note that awards are not renewable.
