University of Edinburgh Surgery Online Scholarships

The Edinburgh Surgery Online  programmes offer a broad range of scholarships, which range in their value and eligibility criteria. There are a number of scholarships available which includes full tuition fees with contribution towards cost of internet access, printing and project costs. Applicants must be resident in Africa, South Asia, Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands or Central and South America.

ASiT-Edinburgh Surgery Online Bursary – MSc in Surgical Sciences

There are ten ASiT-Edinburgh Online Surgery bursaries for the MSc in Surgical Sciences, each worth £1000 annually, to support ASiT members undertaking the MSc in Surgical Sciences.

Value: £1000 annually

The Garden Scholarship – MSc in Surgical Sciences

This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and evidence of a commitment to a career in surgery, to a second or third year student enrolled on the MSc in Surgical Sciences. Applicants must be both nationals of and resident in a country defined as a low and middle income country.

Value: £1000 annually, which will be deducted from annual tuition fee

The Lt.Col Jack Wishart Scholarship – ChM in Trauma & Orthopaedics

One scholarship is available to applicants from Eastern Europe enrolled on the ChM Trauma and Orthopaedics programme. The award will contribute £500 per year toward tuition fees and is tenable for two academic years.

ASiT-Edinburgh Surgery Online Bursary – Surgical ChM courses

ASiT are providing eight bursaries each worth £1000 annually, to support ASiT members undertaking the Edinburgh ChMs in General surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urology and Endovascular & Vascular Surgery.

The Sanders Scholarship in Clinical Ophthalmology – ChM in Clinical Ophthalmology

Applicants must be medical or surgical trainees registered with the General Medical Council and working in a recognised training programme in the Scottish NHS, and be resident in Scotland.

Applications from other health professionals involved in delivering eye care (except optometrists) in the Scottish NHS may be considered on an individual basis. Optometrists accepted on to the MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology who are working in the Scottish NHS should apply for NES Optometry’s scholarship.
