Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship Offers graduates the opportunity to study for a UK Master’s degree while living and working in their home country.
Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships Applications are now open for 2018 Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships, enabling PhD candidates based in developing countries to conduct research in the UK, and for universities to develop their international research collaborations and partnerships. Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships are for PhD candidates from low and middle income Commonwealth countries to spend up to 12 months at a UK university as part of their doctoral studies in their home country. The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation
  • Daiwa Scholarships in Japanese Studies: The Daiwa Scholarship in Japanese Studies is a postgraduate Scholarship programme to fund UK graduates in Japanese Studies on postgraduate Japan-related courses in either Japan or the UK. Strong Japanese language ability will be a key selection criterion. The Daiwa Foundation is able to support up to six scholars at any one time.  Application deadline: last Thursday in January.
  • Daiwa Scholarships: The Daiwa Scholarship is a unique 19-month programme of language study, work placement and homestay in Japan, following a month of Japanese tuition in the UK. They offer young and talented UK citizens with strong leadership potential, the opportunity to acquire Japanese language skills, and to access expertise and knowledge relevant to their career goals. Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships For Canadian citizens applying to a doctoral program in the disciplines of Social Sciences and Humanities, or for those studying full-time in the first or second year of such a program at a foreign university. Each university will have its own deadlines to select the students whose files will be forwarded to the Foundation before the final deadline. At SOAS, applicants are required to submit their applications 4 weeks before the Foundation final deadline.

Wellcome Trust Funding a) Master’s Awards in Humanities and Social Science: Enabling researchers to undertake humanities or social science Master’s courses in any area of health. b) Doctoral Studentships. IMPORTANT: SOAS has internal deadline at SOAS, which is before the Wellcome Trust application deadline. If you are interested in applying for the Master’s awards or Doctoral Studentships, you need to submit your Wellcome application form six weeks before the Wellcome Trust application deadline together with your admission application to the programme. Applicants are strongly advised to liaise with their proposed supervisor/Tutor well in advance. It is recommended that candidates interested in applying for this studentship contact the Scholarships Office (scholarships@soas.ac.uk) as soon as possible. Each university can put forward one candidate for a Master’s Award.
