Weatherhead Research Cluster on Global Populism/Challenges to Democracy Fellowship

Harvard Campus with students strolling by entranceThe Weatherhead Research Cluster on Global Populism/Challenges to Democracy at Harvard University seeks to foster research on the challenges confronting contemporary democracies from diverse disciplinary perspectives. Bringing together faculty, graduate students, and visiting scholars. the Cluster examines the consequences of economic globalization, inequality, immigration and ethnic diversity, and polarization on the quality and stability of democracies across the world, as well as recent institutional innovations aimed at improving democratic performance. We are also interested in research that places democracy in the United States in comparative and historical perspective.

The Global Populism/Challenges to Democracy Fellow is appointed for one academic year and is provided time, guidance, office space, and access to Harvard University facilities. The Fellow should be prepared to devote his/her entire time to productive scholarship on topics closely related to the Cluster’s core research themes. The Fellow may be asked to assist in organizing workshops or conferences for the Research Cluster.
