INGSA Research Associate Grant Programme

The International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) is a collaborative platform for policy makers, practitioners, national academies, and academics to share experience, build capacity and develop theoretical and practical approaches to the use of scientific evidence in informing policy at all levels of government.

In line with this mission, INGSA offers professional development and research grants to support early-to-mid career researchers or policy practitioners in Low and Middle Income Countries. Each grant recipient is expected to manage and conduct a project that explores or advances the understanding or practice of science advice in the region.

Successful recipients of an INGSA grant:

  • Become INGSA Research Associates for the year of their project
  • Receive support and networking opportunities to advance their career paths
  • Receive funding to complete a novel project of their design
  • Can access opportunities for ongoing engagement to advance science advice mechanisms in their regions
  • Are exposed to international peers and opportunities across the INGSA network.

Becoming an INGSA Research Associate provides a unique opportunity to leverage – and contribute to – INGSA’s global network of science advisors and database of resources. The grants are open to academics or policy professionals, with the aim of increasing the understanding of science advisory mechanisms in the Global South.

Any questions relating to the grant programme can be directed to INGSA Programme Officer, Grant Mills: g.mills [at] ingsa.org
